Preamble:

Welcome to the next phase of your learning journey!

As we mentioned at the beginning of the programme, NUMS-MHPE aims to produce inspiring and aspiring leaders and competent clinicians who are also teacher, mentors, reflectors, researchers, scholars, trainers, evaluators and above all a humane, humanistic, empathetic, and ethical professional with a well-developed professional identity (PI).

‘Professional identity formation ‘(PIF), or helping you develop your professional identities not only as professional but also as a medical educationist, is one of the core outcomes of this Master’s programme and will be embedded throughout the course. As we know that PIF is the” transformative journey through which one integrates the knowledge, skills, values, and behaviors of a competent, humanistic physician with one’s own unique identity and core values.”  It is a continuous, dynamic process which helps to develop personal and professional growth through mentorship, self-reflection, and experiences. We embarked on this exciting journey together during last semester and will continue it during this semester as well. Helping educationists develop effective teaching practices goes a long way in bolstering their confidence and helps them to develop their PI.

To help achieve our mutual goal and outcomes, this semester will address three parallel running courses- Assessment of learning (AOL), Programme Evaluation (PRE) and Leadership in Education (LE). There will be some variation in the strategies which will enhance learning together in groups, especially during the SPOTLIGHT sessions.

During the face to face sessions you will get a chance to learn from national and international experts who are leaders in Medical Education.

Details of exciting new additions to follow during your contact period.

Even though your Master’s Program has put you on a roller coaster ride, we hope you will enjoy the experience.

Happy learning
